How This Page is Structured

There are two halves to this resource page: Natural Products and Natural Product Ingredients.

If you want to look at natural living necessities you can buy at the store or online, check out Natural Products. Or if you want to get your feet wet with making your own products, check out the Natural Product Ingredients section. A little self-explanatory, I know.

Just Nutritive also offers amazing skincare options! You can get everything from serums to cleansers to sunless tanning! Every ingredient is completely natural, and even has a little blurb about what each ingredient is good for on their website.

You can check out my Just Nutritive skin care review to see what I really think about them!

Honeybee Gardens
Honeybee Gardens is one of my favorite makeup brands because all of their products are vegan, cruelty free, and all natural! But the big kicker is that all of their products are offered at drugstore prices. Seriously, I can actually get natural makeup without worrying about my bank account.
Check out my in-depth review of Honeybee Gardens if you want to see my favorite products!

Everyday Hygiene

Schmidt’s Naturals Deodorantnatural products

Deodorant by Schmidt’s is the only deodorant I’ve found that’s worth talking about! It smells amazing, and works all day long! I absolutely love the rose and vanilla scent, but it comes in just about any other aromatherapy type scent too!

Tom’s of Maine Botanically Bright Toothpaste
natural productsTom’s of Maine has a great array of natural hygiene products, but their toothpaste is one of my favorites! It’s the only natural toothpaste I’ve found that actually keeps my teeth clean. Just make sure that you stick to the Botanically Bright line from them, because their other lines don’t have the best ingredients.

Badger Balm Broad Spectrum Active Sunscreen
This is the sunscreen that I personally use and love! Badger Balm has a great array of sunscreens among other kinds of salves for everything your skin needs. I have found that the active line is best, because it lasts the longest.

Makeup Remover/Skin Cleanser

Norwex Body Cloth Packnatural products
I literally haven’t bought body wash in years because Norwex is that only thing that cleans my skin properly and cured my body acne! These reusable cloths are also great for makeup removal while still being gentle on your skin. All you need is water!
You can read my in-depth review of Norwex here to learn more!

Cleaning Products

All-Purpose Surface Cleaner

Method All-Purpose Cleaner
Method is a great brand with low ratings on EWG, which makes it a product that I trust for you to use around the house. You can get this cleaner in Pink Grapefruit, Lavender, and Clementine.
I personally prefer to make this product because it’s so cheap and easy! Check out my DIY all-purpose spray here!

Toilet Cleaner

Seventh Generation Toilet Bowl Cleaner
This cleaner gets a whopping “0” on EWG’s toxicity scalewhich gives me peace of mind to recommend it to you! Plus, you’ll love the pine-y scent of this cleaner.
This is yet another home product I prefer to make myself because it’s so cheap and easy. You can learn more about my DIY toilet cleaner here

Glass Cleaner

Seventh Generation Glass Cleaner
This free and clear version of glass cleaner is one of the few truly free and clear options out there! Seventh Generation has plenty of options for cleaning that I know you can trust. It’s also fragrance free!

Dish Soap

Seventh Generation Powered by Plants Dish Soap
I absolutely love the Powered by Plants line from Seventh Generation! This dish soap cleans my dishes just the same as regular dish soap, but without all the added nasty chemicals.

Dishwasher Detergent

Seventh Generation Ultra Power Plus Dishwasher Packs
This huge pack of dishwasher pods gets an excellent rating of zero on EWG, and the cleaning power is amazing! It works even better than my old dishwasher detergent. You can also get the gel version of this product if you prefer that.

Laundry Detergent

Seventh Generation Powered by Plants Laundry Detergent
This is the laundry detergent that I personally use and love! I’ve had zero issues with its ability to fight stains, and I love the lavender scent it leaves behind. I don’t like to make my own laundry detergent because the common ingredients for that aren’t good for your clothes, so this is a great option!

Dryer Sheets

Seventh Generation Plant-Based Fabric Softener Sheets
While I don’t use these dryer sheets myself, I know that these are one of the best options for you. The plant-based dryer sheets will make it easier for them to break down.
I personally prefer my own version of dryer sheets because they’re reusable and more sustainable. You can check out my sustainable dryer sheets here.

Essential Oils

Rocky Mountain Oils

Rocky Mountain Oils has some of the best essential oils out there that won’t hurt your bank account! They are completely transparent about what goes into their products, which shows us how high-quality their oils really are. You can get everything from singles to blends to carrier oils, and even some daily self-care items! I have a few of their carrier oils I highly recommend below.

Check out my in-depth Rocky Mountain Oils review to learn more!

Carrier Oils

natural product ingredients

Jojoba Oil

One of my personal favorite carrier oils, jojoba oil is one of the best oils that mimics your skin’s oils. Because of this, jojoba oil absorbs into your skin faster, prevents too much oil production, and helps with hair growth and repair.

natural ingredients

Sweet Almond Oil

Another great oil that mimics your skin’s oils, Almond oil is packed with essential fatty acids that will strengthen your skin and nails. This makes it a great candidate for hair growth!

Argan Oil
One of my personal favorite carrier oils for hair health! I actually used straight Argan oil as a facial moisturizer for years before I made my own lotion. It’s great for anti-aging and reducing the appearance of scars as well.
Castor Oil natural ingredients
This carrier is notorious for being one of the heaviest oils out there, but it does wonders for hair growth! I only recommend it for thick-haired people though, because it can be very hard to wash out on thin hair.

Shea Butter

Now Solutions 100% Pure Shea Butter
While this is a heavy moisturizer on its own, it works great with homemade lotions and other moisturizers! Or you can use it as a deep moisture treatment on skin that’s close to cracking from lack of moisture.

Cocoa Butter

Now Solutions 100% Pure Cocoa Butter
Very similar to Shea butter, cocoa butter is a little harder at room temperature. But it smells amazing! If you love chocolate and want to try a fun DIY for yourself or as a gift, I highly recommend this delectable moisturizer.

Aloe Vera Gel

Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera Gel
I love aloe vera gel because it’s so incredibly versatile! You can use it in a facial, it can treat sunburns, and it even helps with hair growth! I love to use it as a liquid instead of water in every hair and facial mask I make to reap all of those benefits!

Beeswax Pellets

Yellow Beeswax Cosmetic Grade Pellets
If you want to make anything that has a lotion-y texture, you need beeswax pellets. Just make sure that you get cosmetic-grade pellets so it’s easier on your skin.

Raw Unfiltered Honey

Nature Nate’s Raw and Unfiltered Honey
Raw, unfiltered honey is another versatile must-have for your skin and hair! It’s antibacterial, moisturizing, and washed out easily with water. Just make sure that your honey is raw and unfiltered, so you can reap all of those good benefits.

Rose Water

Heritage Stone Rose Water Spray

While rose water may only seem good for its scent, it has so many more benefits! It’s great for your skin because it balances its PH and helps control oil production. I use this spray on my face as a toner every single day.

Vegetable Glycerin

Now Solutions 100% Pure Vegetable Glycerin
The name may sound gross, but vegetable glycerin is great for skincare because it adds an extra layer of moisturizer without overwhelming your skin. I love to use it in my toner! You can also see it in action in my DIY makeup setting spray

Witch Hazel

T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel
Witch hazel is a great natural astringent, plus it’s great to have in your beauty arsenal! I use it in my DIY makeup setting spray to help control oil production. It also goes great in toners just for that reason.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar with the Mother
I love to use apple cider vinegar in both home and beauty! It balances the PH of your hair, cleans out stains in your laundry, and makes a great toner. Just make sure that you get apple cider vinegar that says “with the mother,” meaning all of that good bacteria from the fermentation is still there.

Castile Soap

Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap
Castile soap is one of the most common ingredients you’ll see in a natural living lover’s cabinet. While there are right and wrong ways to use castile soap, I personally prefer to use it in my cleaning. It cuts through grease without using all those harsh, toxic chemicals!

Raw White Sugar

Organic White Sugar in the Raw
White sugar is one of the most natural and underrated exfoliants. It’s the base for all of my favorite sugar scrub recipes that I love to give away as gifts! Or you can just take straight white sugar and rub it all over your hands as a nice exfoliant treatment.

Arrowroot Powder

Organic Arrowroot Powder
This is a powder I highly recommend you keep on hand if you plan on making your own foundation or dry shampoo. It works great for absorbing oil on your skin without leaving any toxic chemicals behind.

Baking Soda

Arm and Hammer Baking Soda
Baking soda is one of the biggest must-haves for natural living. I put this huge bag on here for a reason! I use it for cleaning and getting rid of tough stains on my clothes. I don’t recommend if for beauty uses, especially your hair. But it’s good just about anywhere else!
