What is The Detox Market?

The Detox Market was founded as a way to escape the traditional beauty industry and create a safe haven full of products that pass very strict standards. The creators recognized how hard it can be to find truly safe beauty and wellness products, so they set out to create their own space for it.

And that’s exactly what The Detox Market turned out to be! It’s an excellent place to find hundreds of brands and products that all have passed rigorous tests and were vetted for quality and safety.

It’s proudly displayed on their website that thousands of products are tested each month, and less than 2% of them make the cut! One of my favorite things about this company is that they have the strictest standards for admitting products on their site.

The Detox Market’s brands include your favorites like W3ll People, Innersense, and Meow Meow Tweet. It’s a great selection of clean beauty retailers in one convenient place online!

If you’re feeling fried about asking yourself the question “Where can I find clean beauty products?” The Detox Market is a lifesaver!

What Makes The Detox Market So Strict with Brands?

There are three standards that The Detox Market lives by when finding new products to add to their store. In other words, the product must have:

  • *Actually* pure ingredients
  • Be cruelty-free
  • And do what it promises to

They proudly display a banned ingredient list on their website, saying that it’s the strictest in the industry! That’s a pretty serious statement in the natural beauty community, so I decided to do a little research. Challenge accepted!

The Detox Market shows the ingredient list for all of their products on each individual product page, and sure enough, all the products I found had very simple, easy-to-understand ingredient lists!

Just taking a glance at the list, it’s the longest I’ve ever seen of a company’s “no-no” ingredients they strive to avoid. Most company’s lists only ban about three to four ingredients.

After my research, I’ve come to the conclusion that The Detox Market’s standards really are worth trusting! There are a few other online companies that sell organic beauty products, but their standards aren’t as strict. So you can truly shop with peace of mind!

With Just a Touch of Sustainability

Another feature of The Detox Market is that they’re supportive of sustainability, though it seems like it’s not one of their main values. There’s no definitive sustainability section on their site, so you’ll have to do some searching around.

They sell reusable makeup rounds, and even a few safety razor options. There’s plenty more, including all of their brands that have sustainability as their focus.

While sustainability doesn’t seem to be their main objective, it’s nice to see that they’re at least acknowledging it! And if you buy a product from their sustainability list, they’ll even plant a tree for you.

I unknowingly bought a product off of this list, and they proudly told me so in my confirmation email! *They do mention it in the product description, I just didn’t see it.

Now that we have all of that info out of the way, let’s get onto the good stuff. Here’s what it was like buying from The Detox Market for the first time!

My Customer Experience | How to Save Money at The Detox Market

I had been perusing their site for quite some time before I decided to take the plunge and sign up for their email list with the intention of keeping an eye on any future sales.

Sure enough, I got an email saying that I could get 10% off my first purchase, as well as free shipping over $50. Pretty typical for companies to do this these days.

As soon as I clicked the link in the email for free shipping after $50 plus 10% off, I was taken to the website saying I had 24 hours to redeem my discount with a little timer up top. That’s pretty good marketing! So I figured I’d at least browse around.

Checkout and Discount Hacks for The Detox Market?

After about ten minutes, I had two products in my basket that I had been dying to try for a while. They were the Hynt Beauty Duet Perfecting Concealer and a beautiful golden sea salt spray by Captain Blankenship.

I was long overdue for these things because I’d been using a foundation sample that was too light for me as under-eye concealer for years! #imaprofessional Plus, I needed some new texturizing spray for when I curl my hair that could double as hairspray.

non-toxic concealer

Those two products added up to $52 on their own, so the $50 introductory level is a great way to simply try The Detox Market without breaking your wallet.

However, the 10% discount brought my total down to $46, which was a little annoying. So I added on a beauty blender to offset the cost, and my free shipping was unlocked!

Overall, I was pretty happy with my shopping experience, but the Detox Market offers an even better way to save money while switching to clean beauty!

The Detox Market’s Amazing Subscription Box

Another thing The Detox Market is well-known for is their subscription box lovingly known as The Detox Box. It’s a pretty decent-sized box with anywhere between three to six products, depending on the value of the products.

The monthly cost for The Detox Box is $58.95, or you can bundle your subscription into three or six month increments for a cheaper price.

Based on past boxes, the retail value of each box is at least over $100, so you’re essentially getting a bunch of beauty products for 50% off, which isn’t too bad!

Each box has a very distinct theme, which I think is pretty fun. Their past boxes have had sustainability, makeup, and/or skin care, usually with a certain brand setting the theme. I was looking at their past boxes and found myself swooning!

While I would love to subscribe to The Detox Box, it’s not in the cards for me financially right now. At the time of writing this article, pretty much all of the reviews of this company were really about The Detox Box and not The Detox Market as a company. And I want to change that!

This means that The Detox Market gives these boxes out like candy to influencers. Which is fantastic marketing, to be frank. So do with that what you will.

Pro of The Detox Market: Lots of Organic Beauty Brands in One Place

It’s so hard to find an organic beauty brand where you can just grab something and go without looking at the ingredient list. And believe me, when I find that kind of brand, I’m loyal to them for life!

But again, a brand like that is a diamond in the rough. Learning where to find natural products is a developed skill that takes time!

Does The Detox Market review everything with as much concern as you do should? Yes, they do!

The Detox Market has the highest standards of any online store I’ve seen, which means that you can shop much easier knowing that all the products you’re shown are clean.

If you’re new to reading ingredient lists and have no idea where to start with clean beauty, The Detox Market can be an invaluable resource!

I certainly had nights where I needed a new clean beauty product but didn’t feel like doing the research to find a new one. Not to mention picking a good brand would be a whole other research session.

But The Detox Market’s selection takes so much pressure off of you! I definitely wish I knew about them when I first started my clean beauty journey.

Con of The Detox Market: They Don’t Have an Extensive Selection of Each Brand

No online resource is truly perfect, and this is the only flaw I’ve found so far. The annoying part of the The Detox Market is that they don’t have a complete collection of a brand’s products.

There are some brands, like W3ll People, where they carry so few of their products I don’t understand why they carry them at all. The Detox Market carries literally two out of roughly 30 of their products that I know are clean.

I’ve noticed that it’s quite rare for The Detox Market to carry all of a brand’s products, no matter how small the selection is. And it doesn’t seem to be due the product’s toxicity.

I would assume it’s due more so to manufacturing agreements than what’s in the products. I’m sure the original brand wants to get as much credit for sales as possible!

Before You Go!

I think The Detox Market is a fantastic resource for both the beginner and veteran of clean beauty! And it’s a great way to expose yourself to brands you haven’t heard of before.

I found some of my favorite brands, as well as some new ones that I’m super excited to try!

And if you want to find a clean beauty marketplace with even more options, check out my Credo Beauty review! It gives the buyers a little more wiggle room that I think everyone would appreciate.
